Well when did you test the speed, if it was at the same time as posted at 06:56 PM, of course it wont be a good speed, its in peak times, harldy anyone will get what they are paying for in peak times, try again off peak times, like early in the morning.

If your neigbour gets 1.5megs then you should get about the same, if you are still gettin slow speeds, make sure you dont have any other progrmas running when you test the speed, to get a ture result.

If you have any other questions just ask.

Okay, How Far Away Do You From Your Exchange? It Could Be That Your Phone Line To Your House, Is Not Very Good Quality.

Tbh, Lately I Have Been Having Slow Speeds, Around 1.46mbps, I Pay For A Max Of 2mbps, And The Max My Line Can Do Is Around 4mbps, It Could Be That The Broadband Lately All Over Has Slown Down, Due To The Pressue On The Servers With So Many People Using It.

What Is The Max Speed Your Line Can Handle?

If You Are Still Having Problems, You Could Always Call 02 To Ask Them If There Is A Fault, Or Tell Them That You Are Not Gettin What You Pay For.

3.26 kilometres from exchange (as the crow flies),i just got 595kbps/down on speed test,so gone up a bit,i gave o2 a bell and they done a test?and said i should get about 1.5meg max but said it would be more like 1 meg peak times etc etc,he also said im still in the 10 day training period and that tests are still being done on my line,i check line stats all the time and nothing hardly changes , did u c my SN Margin 27.5db down is that normal? "What Is The Max Speed Your Line Can Handle?" how can i find that out? cheers dave.

just went on google map and its 2.9 miles by road to exchange.

Nearly 3 miles to your exchange a long way. No wonder O2 say you can only get 1.5mbps max.

Its up to O2 to sort out your speed, if you can only get 595kbps then, thats because a lot of people are connected to your exchange or you just cant get 1.5mbps.

To find out the max speed you line can handle use the Broadband Checker on the homepage, then under ADSL MAX Broadband it says the speed you can get in mbps.

Not a very good speed, but you should be able to get around 1mbps, 595kbps is only half of 1mbps.
