Default Error 619 : 3 3G USB Modem - 18-08-08, 09:50 AM

Hi peeps,

Sorry if this message has been posted a thousand times, I’ve tried searching through the forum, can find similar threads but nothing with my exact problem.

I recently did a clean install of Windows XP recently, and am now in the process of reinstalling all my software. A lot of the machines drivers were missing (graphics etc.), for which I’ve downloaded and all is now fine. However, I’ve reinstalled my 3 3G USB Modem, and now when a connection is attempted I get the Error 619 message. The process of connection finds the correct ports, however, when Authenticating, the connection fails, thus displaying the Error 619 message. I’ve checked through the settings, the phone number that is being dialled is #99*, the username and password are blank. I never noticed a username and password being used before I reinstalled the OS (it connected fine, then, by the way), so can only assume this has always been blank. The ASDN has 3internet in the box.

Are all the above settings fine? Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to download any more drivers?

I’m at the end of my tether with this. I’m currently paying for a service I can’t get, and phoning the 3 customer service line is pointless. Can anyone help me out on this?

You should have a password and a username, Use the ones which 3 gave you for your account.

Thanks for the reply.

However, I've seen other people with similar problems, and others have also stated that Username/Password should be blank, so I'm pretty sure this isn't the problem.

I've a feeling it's a driver issue, yet I can't seem to find the driver for this modem. The model number is E220, if anyone can help me with this?

Thanks
Luke

Username and password remain blank, you only need the access number but it's *99# not as you say the other way round.
Also change the APN to 'three.co.uk' this is supposed to be a faster connection.

The Irish 3 website has software you can download and the uk site has drivers; however the E220 has all it's own software built in, if then it's not already loaded it will load automatically when plugged in?
