Default T-Mobile HSDPA Netgear - 15-07-08, 06:03 PM

Hello,

Firstly, can I say that I have been mighty impressed with T-mobile bandwidth and coverage in my area, South Wales. Consistanly getting 1meg dowload and 1.2 meg upload. The later is a refreshing break from ADSL, particularly for my particular application.

Have any of you on T-mobile Mobile broadband used your SIM card in any other modem other thatn the USB device provided? I am trying to set up a netgear mobile broadband modem (mbm62), but have come accross some difficulty.

I get a good signal but cannot connect to the network. The technical chaps at T-mobile were a little unsure regarding the settings that I required.

Does anybody know the settings by any chance? I was informed that there is no username or password but the APN type is general.t-mobile.uk.

Also they could not give me any information in relation to the PDP Type (i.e. the type of packet data protocol.

Any help would be great.

Best Regards,

LF

Default Now Sorted Thanks - 17-07-08, 07:12 AM

Hi all,

Managed to sort this one out. Here are the details if anybody else gets a problem.

A rather helpful chap at netgear provided the solution as follows, he stated that he had resolved a similar case with the mbm621 and an Orange mobile Broadband SIM.

The settings provided by the T-mobile were Ok. He advised me to uncheck the following box in the modem control settings

>Broaband Setting - Connect only to preffered networks.

This worked a treat.

I also found out that the PDP Type (type of packet data) for T-mobile is IP - or is seams to be - it works on that setting.

Anyhow - have fun out there.

Best Regards,

LF
