Default Three mobile broadband, taking my money! - 08-07-08, 10:31 AM

Three mobile broadband issue: I went over my 3GB allowance, phoned up got told I had to put £10 on which would give me 100mb for therest of the month, not what I wanted but OK. When the bill came through I found out that I had used £60 worth of credit?! I never asked for this credit nor had I been told I was being given it (£60 in 5 days is appaling) I have refused to pay, canceled my direct debit (I put in writing I would do this) and now they have a debit collection agency after me!

If anyone can give me any advice on how to tackle this and get them to stop chasing after my money that would be a great help.

If you're on a contract then it clearly says that if you use more than your allowance then they will charge 10p per megabyte used. That's something you agreed too when you signed the contract. On PAYG though it should just cut off after you have used your allowance until you have topped up.

How long have you had your modem for?

I am on a contract and this was my first month, I had not recieved any contract information through the post at this point. When my broadband stopped working I phoned up 3 who told me I had used up my allowance however I could add more at a cost of 10p pre MB I agreed to put £10 on, however they put £60 on, how is this fair?!!?
