Angry B.t headache - 13-10-07, 06:13 PM

Hi all.
here is my diary of troubles with b.t 8mb broadband.

Aug 28th. First noticed slow broadband speeds on my line. getting 48kb down but 287 up?
Sept 3rd. after a week of fustration i called b.t broadband help on a 0845 number. Was told everything was fine and it could be my p.c at faut.
Sept 11th. formatted p.c. Still the same, called helpline again and still fobbed off. everything is ok, no fault on your line.
Sept 17th. Booked p.c tech from yellow pages. he comes, checks my p.c, all fine. Plugged his router into my line and hey presto, 3.5mb download speed. not quite the 8mb but better then 48kb. tech suspects home hub at fault.
Sept 18th. Called helpline again, finally given a freephone number for line faults. Called line faults, was told my line would be monitored for a week and should improve, home hub is not faulty.
Sept 25th. Still slow speeds. Called line faults and told my equipment would be reset and would have good speeds within 3-5 days.
Sept 29th. guess what, yes, still slow. called line faults again, yippee, a b.t engineer will come on the 2nd oct.
Oct 2nd. Engineer comes, checks equipment and told the exchange needs an upgrade or something tells me b.t will be in touch over the problem.
Oct 6th. Still no call from b.t. Call line faults again who still dont seem to have a clue.
Oct 9th. Over the last couple of days b.t to be fair have called me for updates on my line speed. Was told exchange problem has been fixed and my line speed is good now. told to turn my hub off then back on. Kerching.......5.5mb. Faults dept asks if i am happy and can the case be closed. Happy surfing here i come.
Oct 13th. 1 week on and am i happy. NO. My speeds are slow again. feels like groundhog day. Im off to call b.t again. Will keep u posted

Thumbs down Broadband Problem - 18-10-07, 04:03 PM

Have had a similair problem for 12 monts. ISP say BT fault, BT say ISP.

Have had to revert back to dial up - even slower than before, more like wind up.

Advised by BT my fault is now rectified. Will try broadband again.
